IRVING, Texas – Cowboys offensive lineman R.J. Dill has been suspended without pay for the first four regular-season games of 2015 for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances, a league spokesperson announced Friday.
Undrafted in 2013, Dill is competing for a backup spot on the offensive line. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Cowboys in January.
Dill is eligible to participate in the remaining preseason practices and games. His four-game suspension ends Monday, Oct. 5 following the Cowboys' Oct. 4 game against the New Orleans Saints.
The Cowboys have two preseason games left: Saturday against Minnesota and next Thursday against Houston.
The team must cut the roster from 90 to 75 players on Tuesday and trim to 53 players a week from Saturday, Sept. 5.
