ARLINGTON, Texas – In the Cowboys' end-of-season survey to fans regarding their experience at AT&T Stadium, a popular response was so many missed the old Stadium Club at Texas Stadium.
"They missed a place to go have a sit-down meal before a football game, whether it's a noon game, a 3 o'clock game or a night game," Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said. "And one of the things our family has been committed to at AT&T Stadium, and for that matter, whatever we do, is to invest back with our fans every year."
Now Cowboys fans can add a first-class dining experience with the comfort of a sports bar at the new Stadium Club, set for its grand opening Monday, Sept. 26 just inside AT&T Stadium's main entrance.
Located next to the Pro Shop, Stadium Club will be open to the public seven days a week for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to midnight – an ideal location for fans to stop by before or after a stadium tour. On Cowboys home game days, the new restaurant will only be open to Stadium Club members (visit http://attstadium.com/stadiumclub for information regarding game day dining memberships available to Season Ticket Holders and Suite Ticket Holders).
For Monday's grand opening celebration, the doors will open at 11 a.m., and Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and Cowboys alumni will make appearances from 4-7 p.m.
"It's great that it's finally come to fruition," Jones said Friday at the new restaurant's media preview and tasting event. "I think our fans are really going to enjoy it, and the great thing about it is it's not just for game day. We're going to encourage our fans to come out, have lunch, have dinner, watch their favorite team play on television – obviously a little sports-bar mentality here as well, and we have well over a half-million people that come through with tours that will have a great place to finish up and go through our Pro Shop and have a nice meal when they're through taking a tour."
The daily menu offers "a sophisticated spin on game day favorites" with shareable appetizers and sides, soups and salads, burgers and sandwiches. The 19,000 square-foot Stadium Club can seat up to 650 guests and includes a large seamless video wall surrounding each bar, a video wall behind the host stand and 20 flat-screens through the restaurant.
At one time, Jones said the Cowboys considered using the space for a museum or a franchise Hall-of-Fame type venue. Elements of the new Stadium Club pay tribute to the old restaurant at Texas Stadium and showcase the franchise's rich history.
"We think it's just a better way for our fans to interactively enjoy the history of this franchise, and of course the amazing brand that it's become in sports over this period of time," Jones said.
