IRVING, Texas --The week of his Ring of Honor election in August, Larry Allen was invited by his old offensive line coach, Hudson Houck, to watch and advise rookie offensive tackle Tyron Smith. The week of his Ring of Honor induction, Allen's back visiting practice again on Wednesday.
"I miss it a lot," he said afterward. "I miss contact."
The former 11-time Pro Bowl lineman played 12 years with the Cowboys and won one Super Bowl in 1995. He's considered one of the NFL's all-time greats at his position, not just in team history, and could become a first-ballot Hall of Famer when eligible.
Sunday, he'll enter the Cowboys' version of Canton, the Ring of Honor, with fellow greats Drew Pearson and Charles Haley.
