Bailey Plays Through Sore Back; Makes 1 of 2 Field Goal Attempts

While the Cowboys are getting all kinds of contributions from young players, there is one established vet who has found himself in a rare slump.

For Dan Bailey, missing two straight field goals is deemed a slump. But while he missed a 47-yarder in the first quarter, the recent Pro Bowl kicker wasn't quite himself Sunday in San Francisco. Bailey woke up with an aching back and struggled through the entire game, feeling pain with every step, and of course, every kick.

Bailey hooked his first field goal attempt of the game on the Cowboys' opening possession. It was his second straight miss after last week's 48-yard attempt against the Bears.

Bailey did come back and hit a 22-yarder late in the game to give the Cowboys a seven-point lead. Bailey is now 8 of 10 on the season with his field-goal attempts.

After the game, Bailey said he was curious how he'd feel after the long flight home to Dallas, but didn't seem too worried about the injury for the next game.
