ARLINGTON, Texas – The Cowboys' inactive players for Sunday's opener against the Giants are guard Brian Waters, wide receiver Cole Beasley, tackle Darrion Weems, running back Lance Dunbar, safety Danny McCray and defensive ends Anthony Spencer and Caesar Rayford.
Rayford was preparing all week for a possible added workload on the defensive line with the injuries to Spencer and defensive tackles Jay Ratliff and Ben Bass, but the Cowboys elected to leave him inactive this week. They brought back defensive tackle Jerome Long, who is active this week.
McCray and Dunbar had been ruled out before Sunday's game, while Spencer was doubtful. Neither Spencer nor Waters were expected to be ready.
The Cowboys elected to keep just four active receivers by making Beasley inactive. They chose to keep all six of their linebackers active. All seven of the Cowboys' draft picks are also active for the game.
The Giants' inactives are quarterback Ryan Nassib, center David Baas, tackle David Diehl, tight end Adrien Robinson, defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins, defensive end Damontre Moore and defensive end Adewale Ojomo.
