The holiday season is upon us and there's no better gift than knowledge. After stacking some good performances over the last few weeks, the Dallas Cowboys (7-8) now travel to face their bitter NFC East rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles (12-3).
While Dallas has been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, it doesn't take a genius to see why they're motivated to upend the Eagles this week.
Philly enters the week as the 2-seed in the NFC playoff picture, fighting for the first-round bye with Detroit (13-2) as the season winds down.
Dallas would love nothing more to ensure their rivals don't have a shot at the top-spot and home field advantage in the postseason.

Here are 10 more notable 'big facts' to remember ahead of Sunday's 12:00pm kickoff on Fox.

Scrappy in Silver
Dallas has now won four of their last five games after a 3-7 start to the season. They have turned things around on both sides of the ball with at least 25-points scored in each win after tallying just two 25-point outings in the first 10 games. They've also allowed fewer than 25 to opponents in three of the five games after doing so in seven of the first 10 games.

Aubrey Automatic Again
Brandon Aubrey hit four field goals on Sunday night, including three from 50-yards or more. He now holds the NFL record with 14 made field goals from 50-yards or more in a single season. Houston's Ki'imi Fairbairn currently has 13 makes from that distance, meaning that there's still a competition for the record unfolding over the final two weeks.

More Elite Company for Micah
With his strip-sack of Baker Mayfield, Micah Parsons has now tallied 50.0 over his career. He's just the sixth NFL player since 1982 with at least 50 sacks over their first four seasons. Parsons joins Reggie White (70.0), Derrick Thomas (58.0), J.J. Watt (57.0), DeMarcus Ware (53.5), and Dwight Freeney (51.0).

Number 71 for Zeke
In the second quarter on Sunday night, Ezekiel Elliott crossed the goal line for his 71st career rushing touchdown and third of the season. He is now one away from tying Tony Dorsett (72) for second-most in Cowboys history. Those two only trail the Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith who finished his career with 153 rushing touchdowns.

Lamb served over Rice
CeeDee Lamb tallied 105 receiving yards in Week 16, giving him 6,727 yards from scrimmage for his career. That slots him at fourth-most by an NFL wide receiver in the first five seasons of a career, passing Jerry Rice (6,653) for the spot Sunday night.

Rush's Record
Despite his 0-2 start to the season, Cooper Rush has improved his career record as a starter to 9-4. He has tallied nine passing touchdowns and only one interception since Week 12, after finishing with just one touchdown and one interception in those first two games (Week 10-11)

DW Passes DW
Cowboys safety Donovan Wilson tallied his third sack of the season Sunday Night against Tampa Bay. That gives him 12.0 sacks over his career, moving him past Hall-of-Fame hopeful Darren Woodson (11.0) and Orlando Scandrick (11.5) for the second-most sacks by a defensive back in Cowboys history.

Quinn Wins Battle of Former Coordinators
In Week 16, the Washington Commanders defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 36-33 to officially eliminate the Cowboys from playoff contention. It marked the first time the Commanders, led by former Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, defeated a team with a record over .500 this season. They were previously 0-4. He did so against former Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.

Barkley's 2,000-yard Pace
Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is on pace for 2,083 rushing yards over the 17-game season. The current single season rushing record is held by Eric Dickerson with 2,105 yards in 1984. Barkley would need to average 134 rushing yards per game to break the record and enters with six games with over 140 yards this season.

Christmas, Candy Canes and Cowboys
Though the Cowboys don't play on the holiday this year, it's always fun to look back and see the history for Dallas on Christmas Day. Dallas has played on the holiday three times in team history, winning the first two in 1971 with a 20-12 victory over the Vikings and 1995 with a 37-13 blowout of the Cardinals. However, Arizona would get their Christmas revenge in the most recent Cowboys appearance, a 27-26 loss in 2010.
