The Cowboys return home to AT&T Stadium, where they have lost all three games, and two of which by large margins. And now they're dealing with even more injuries as Dak Prescott will miss at least the next four games.
Cooper Rush takes over the offense against an Eagles team that has won four straight games.
Here are the 10 big storylines for the week, with five for the Eagles and five for the Cowboys.
Eagles
- The Eagles are trying to keep pace with the Commanders in the NFC East standings, and needed a last-second interception Sunday to beat the Jaguars, 28-23 at home. The Eagles were up 22-0 at one point in the second half before the Jaguars made a furious rally. The Eagles are 6-2 and winners of four straight. They're also 3-1 on the road this year.
- The Eagles might have changed their center – but the "Tush Push" is still alive and well and Jalen Hurts has eight rushing touchdowns this year – second-most in the NFL. Hurts is also one of 10 quarterbacks with a QB rating over 100.0 as he ranks eighth at 102.4.
- The addition of Saquon Barkley has provided a big jolt to the Eagles' offense – both in the running and passing game. Barkley had one of the craziest highlights you'll ever see in a game last week against the Jaguars with his spin/backwards leap over a defender. But he's one of three players in the NFL already over the 1,000-yard mark in scrimmage yards. His 1,071 yards are mostly on the ground (925) but he also has eight total touchdowns.
- Eagles star receiver A.J. Brown is considered 'day-to-day' after suffering a knee injury that forced him to leave Sunday's game against the Jaguars. MRI results revealed more of a bone bruise and no structural damage. Brown has a chance to play this week against the Cowboys, depending on his week of practice. This year, Brown already missed three games with a hamstring injury and has 23 catches for 444 yards and three TDs in five games played.
- The Eagles defense ranks third in the NFL in yards allowed, giving up 290.3 yards per game. And they're one of just nine teams in the NFL allowing less than 20 points per game at 19.4. On the flip side, the Cowboys' offense hasn't scored over 20 points in four of the eight games and that was with Dak Prescott at quarterback.
Cowboys
- The biggest news for the Cowboys on Tuesday didn't involve a trade, as the team is preparing to put quarterback Dak Prescott on IR, keeping him out for at least eight games. Prescott suffered a painful hamstring injury in the fourth quarter against the Falcons and didn't return. That means the team will turn to veteran backup Cooper Rush, although third quarterback Trey Lance, will now jump to the No. 2 role and could be used in certain situations.
- Although Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones said last Sunday he expected the team to make multiple moves before the trade deadlines, the Cowboys only acquired Jonathan Mingo in a trade with the Panthers. Mingo, a second-round pick (39th overall) last year, has yet to make a big splash with no TD catches so far in his NFL career. The Cowboys gave up a fourth-round pick in 2025 and also get a seventh-round pick in return.
- The Cowboys are hopeful to have some injured players back on the field this week, most notably Micah Parsons, who hasn't played since late September with a high-ankle sprain. DaRon Bland could also make his season debut with a foot injury he sustained back in August. Also, CeeDee Lamb is expected to play despite a shoulder injury and Ezekiel Elliott, who was held back from making the trip to Atlanta for disciplinary reasons, is expected to play this week.
- Slow starts have plagued the team all season long. The Cowboys are getting outscored in the first quarter (54-29) and the third quarter (68-22) by a combined 122-51 to come out of the locker room.
- The Cowboys added a player via trade on Tuesday, but also cut two players they traded for back in August. Cornerback Andrew Booth was released, along with defensive tackle Jordan Phillips.
