Bless The Alamodome; 80th Man Cometh

10-part reality series will close that Monday night, revealing which guy's dream really did come true . . . .

Ashamed to admit this, but I actually read People magazine's account of the Tony-Jess "breakup." The Apocalypse can't be far away. In fact, out of curiosity - seriously - I clicked on the accompanying analysis piece on just why they "broke up." Heaven help me. It's a byline story and at the end, there is a credit reading "Reporting by . . ." and it took two more "reporters" to help with this heavy, in-depth piece. And since this is a full-service website, and assuming most of you (hopefully) can't stomach actually reading this stuff, here, there is this quote from an anonymous source (Is there any other kind?) stating, "(Jessica and Tony) were good together for along (sic) time. But I guess it wasn't meant to be." A long time? Is November of 2007 (when they first met) to July of 2009 really a long time? Please . . . .

What's the over-under on how many days at camp before an available Romo is asked about this by some reporter? I'm setting it at two just so you have the choice of going under . . . .

From the How Does This Stuff Get Started Department, I actually heard there was more Unhappiness in Paradise here. More? How could that be? What's His Name is gone. So too is Pacman Jones and Tank Johnson and Greg Ellis, not that he should ever be lumped into the aforementioned two's category. No one's been arrested to my knowledge, and the new stadium is up and running just fine, preparing this week for Sunday's CONCACAF Gold Cup soccer matches which will include much hoped for Mexico in one of the two quarterfinal pairings. So who, what?

Well, once again my curiosity got the better of me, so I listened, and actually heard the relationship between Phillips and offensive coordinator Jason Garrett could possibly be deteriorating since Phillips has taken over the defense. How come? Because the defense obviously has been ahead of the offense during the non-contact, no-pads OTAs and mini-camp practices, as if that ever is some sort of revelation this time of year, and that the competition between the two is increasing . . . maybe to the point of competing against each other for "their jobs." Unreal . . . at least to me . . . .

July 28th can't get here soon enough.
