ARLINGTON, Texas – Kicker David Buehler sat out Friday's practice with the Chargers – the Cowboys' last full workout before Sunday's preseason game – and it's quite possible he'll be out at least through the weekend with a strained right (kicking) hip.
Buehler hasn't kicked since his hip tightened up in Monday's afternoon practice. He remains day-to-day and said he hasn't been given a target return date by the Cowboys' medical and athletic training staff.
With rookie Kai Forbath also injured, rookie Dan Bailey is getting all the reps in practice. He made six of seven attempts Friday against the Chargers, missing only from 49 yards.
"Obviously it's hard because I want to get out there and compete and compete against Dan," Buehler said. "He's getting the opportunities and I'm not when I'm sitting on the sidelines. But obviously I don't want to re-injure (it)."
