FRISCO, Texas – Left tackle Tyron Smith has missed the last two games with a back injury, and now his backup, Chaz Green, is dealing with a foot strain coming off his second straight start this past Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.
Speaking Tuesday on 105.3 The Fan, team owner/GM Jerry Jones sounded optimistic that Smith would be able to play this Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals but acknowledged the team must see how his back feels throughout the week.
Green, who wore a walking boot on Tuesday, has played well in the All-Pro's absence. The Cowboys return to practice Wednesday, so it remains to be seen how much work, if any, both tackles do.
The Cowboys signed Emmett Clearly last week for depth with Smith injured. They also have two tackles, Clay DeBord and Keavon Milton, on the practice squad.
