ARLINGTON, Texas – Cornerback Morris Claiborne is one of the seven Cowboys' inactives for the first time this year.
The rookie will miss the Steelers game after suffering a concussion a week prior against the Bengals. The play occurred when his helmet popped off during a hit along the sideline.
A stretcher came out for Claiborne, who was motionless on the ground. He eventually got back on his feet and walked off on his own power with a towel pressed to his face for facial lacerations.
Claiborne was a limited practice participant Thursday and Friday, and evidently he wasn't ready for the game. He's recorded an interception and two fumble recoveries, including one for a touchdown, this season.
Cornerbacks Brandon Carr and Mike Jenkins will be the likely starters. Sterling Moore and Michael Coe will also provide depth at the position.
Safety Charlie Peprah, running back Phillip Tanner, nose tackle Jay Ratliff and offensive linemen Kevin Kowalski, David Arkin and Darrion Weems will join Claiborne on Sunday's inactive list.
Wide receiver Anthony Armstrong and defensive lineman Brian Schaefering are active for the first time as members of the Cowboys.
