@JScottLewis: Miles Austin's hamstring injury is worrying me. Is it something that could linger even though the team is exercising caution?
Rob: We don't deal in hypotheticals . . . just kidding. It's always a possibility, yes, but that's why it seems unlikely he'll play again this preseason. That's another 10 days or so of rest. They think he'll be good to go.
Nick: I wouldn't worry about it too much. I just don't think you'll see Austin in the dress rehearsal or the rest of the preseason. At least he's a veteran of this offense and should be fine for the opener.
@TheSlamdog: Why does Jay Novacek not seem to be in the conversation for the Ring of Honor?
Rob: Novacek should be considered. He's the ninth all-time leading receiver in team history, a five-time Pro Bowl and a great safety blanket for Troy Aikman. Problem is, the Ring is so exclusive that only the greatest of the greats get in.
Nick: At some point, you have to cut it off. If you want exclusivity, then you don't put every good player in there. And I'm sorry but I think Novacek was a product of the system and playing around three Hall of Famers. He wasn't great with the Cardinals but came to Dallas and thrived. I think he was a big part of the team success but you can't put them all in. So guys like Novacek, Moose, Stepnoski, Nate Newton . . . they're not going to make it. In fact, I'm really surprised that Haley did.
