FRISCO, Texas – With defensive tackle Brian Price going on Reserve/Injured as expected, the Cowboys have signed rookie defensive lineman Lewis Neal (6-0, 280) from the practice squad in his place.
Neal, undrafted out of LSU, had a good training camp and was in consideration for a roster spot after preseason.
Head coach Jason Garrett said Monday that Price would undergo knee surgery this week after getting injured in the second half of the Cowboys' 28-17 win over the Chiefs.
The Cowboys have also signed defensive tackle Joe Vellano to the practice squad in Neal's place. Vellano (6-2, 300) has played in 25 games with the Patriots and Falcons since 2013. The Falcons waived Vellano last month after he appeared in four games, making four tackles.
