Rivera, who will turn 35 later this month, has undergone two back surgeries to repair herniated discs in the past two years. His most recent occurred just after the season-ending playoff loss to Seattle. Rivera currently is rehabbing from that surgery, and would be in no hurry himself to make a decision on the remainder of his career. He has three years left on the five-year deal he signed in 2005 that included an $8.125 million signing bonus.
