Cowboys Sign DT; Cut DB James As Minicamp Begins

The Cowboys have signed defensive tackle Jeris Pendleton on Tuesday, the first day of a three-day minicamp at Valley Ranch.

Pendleton, a seventh-round pick of Jacksonville in 2012, played in four games last season, posting four tackles. The 6-2, 315-pounder was cut by the Jaguars on May 22. [embedded_ad]

To make room for Pendleton, the Cowboys waived cornerback Malik James, a rookie from Langston who signed two weeks ago. James spent most of last week's OTAs working on his conditioning drills and didn't get to compete much in team drills.

The Cowboys have a full roster of 90 players, the amount they can take to training camp on July 19 in Oxnard, Calif.
