FRISCO, Texas – The Cowboys signed former University of Arkansas punter Sam Irwin-Hill on Wednesday.
Irwin-Hill, 26, punted in 25 career games in two college seasons (2013-14). As a junior he led the SEC with 20 punts inside the 20-yard line, and his 44.3 yards-per-punt average ranked third.
Irwin-Hill will provide depth at punter on the Cowboys' 90-man roster this summer. Chris Jones set a career high with a 45.9-yard punt average last season and now has the all-time highest percentage of punts downed inside the 20-yard line (39.9 percent) in Cowboys history.
