IRVING, Texas—The Cowboys teamed up with USA Football Saturday to host the 2013 North Texas Leadership Forum for local youth football leaders at the Cowboys' Valley Ranch training facility.
Youth football league commissioners from around North Texas were invited to attend the forum wherein participants could network, share best practices and learn about USA Football's latest efforts to improve the health and safety of the game, including the Heads Up Football initiative. Heads Up Football works to improve the safety of the sport by promoting concussion awareness, coaching education and proper equipment fitting and tackling techniques. USA Football, youth football's national governing body, is the official youth football development partner of the Dallas Cowboys and the NFL. An independent nonprofit organization, USA Football offers coaching and game official education, innovative digital resources for players and coaches, subsidized background checks for leagues' adult volunteers, $1 million in annual equipment grants and more.
