IRVING, Texas - The Cowboys drafted nine players last weekend. They then signed 24 undrafted free agents to make up the 33 current members of the rookie class.

But even that isn't enough to conduct a full mini-camp practice schedule this weekend, which includes two practices on both Friday and Saturday. [embedded_ad]

The Cowboys have also invited 15 players to participate in the two days of workouts. While these guys are considered long shots at best, there have been some success stories in recent history. In 2012, three players eventually made it to training camp, including Ben Bass, who is still on the team. Fullback Jamize Olawale and receiver David Little also made it camp.

Last year, the Cowboys signed receiver Anthony Amos, offensive lineman Edawn Coughman and defensive end Jerome Long to the roster. Long eventually played the first three games of the regular season.

This year's group includes Louisiana-Monroe quarterback Kolton Browning, who will split the reps with rookie free agent Dustin Vaughan from West Texas A&M.

Here's the list of workout players expected to participate this weekend:

Robert Armstrong, WR, Texas A&M-Kingsville (6-0, 201)
