OXNARD, Calif. - Just a few days removed from losing pass-rusher Sam Williams with an ACL and MCL injury, the Cowboys are scheduled to bring in four players for a workout on Thursday.

The list includes Carl Lawson, who is an unrestricted free agent with 27 career sacks under his belt. Lawson, a fourth-round pick of the Bengals in 2017, had 8.5 sacks as a rookie for Paul Guenther, who was the defensive coordinator in Cincinnati. Guenther is in his first season as the Cowboys run-game coordinator.

Lawson, who spent the last two years with the Jets, has four seasons of at least 5.0 sacks.

Other players scheduled for the workout include Shaka Toney, Al-Quadin Muhammad and Justin Hollins.

Toney spent the last two seasons in Washington, where he was coached by current Cowboys D-line coach Jeff Zgonina. He has 1.5 sacks in two years with the Commanders.

Muhammad has played six pro seasons for the Saints, Colts and Bears with 12 career sacks. His best season occurred in 2021 when he had six sacks for Indianapolis.

And Hollins is a journeyman who has played games for five different teams from 2019-2023. He has 10.5 sacks with a season-high of 3.5 in 2022, when he played for the Packers and Rams.
