IRVING, Texas – Brandon Weeden wasn't the only player waived from the Cowboys' roster Tuesday.
The Cowboys opened up two more spots by parting ways with backup running back Christine Michael and cornerback Corey White.
Acquired from the Seahawks in early September, Michael appeared in six games with the Cowboys, gaining 51 yards on 15 carries. Rod Smith and Trey Williams are now the two primary backups to starter Darren McFadden.
The Cowboys claimed White off waivers from the Saints in March. With Orlando Scandrick on injured reserve, White rotated with Tyler Patmon as the slot corner but was inactive for the last two games. He had seven tackles and three pass breakups in seven games.
The Cowboys currently have some depth issues at cornerback with starter Mo Claiborne injuring his hamstring against the Bucs. Byron Jones, the starting free safety, moved to corner after Claiborne left the game and would figure to start there Sunday at Miami if Claiborne is unable to play.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the Cowboys' 53-man roster now stands at 49 players. One spot is obviously saved for quarterback Tony Romo, who is eligible to be activated from the injured reserve/designated to return list this week in his expected return from a fractured collarbone.
