FRISCO, Texas – The Cowboys' rookie duo of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott are up for another award – which should sound familiar by now.
The NFL announced its candidates for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week award on Tuesday morning, with both Prescott and Elliott up for consideration after fantastic outings in Green Bay. They were nominated alongside Cleveland quarterback Cody Kessler, Philadelphia running back Wendell Smallwood and San Diego linebacker Jatavis Brown.
Neither Cowboys player's inclusion should be a surprise coming off the 30-16 win against the Packers. Prescott overcame two turnovers to complete 18-of-27 passes for 247 yards and three touchdowns.
Elliott didn't find the end zone, but he set a punishing tone against a vaunted Green Bay run defense, with 28 carries for 157 yards.
This has developed into quite a trend as the Cowboys have run their record up to 5-1. This is the third time in six weeks the pair has been nominated together, along with Week 3 and Week 4. Elliott was also nominated by himself for his Week 5 performance against Cincinnati.
Prescott took home the weekly award in Week 4 after his 245-yard, two-touchdown outing against San Francisco.
