It's time for one of the most exciting days for the rookie candidates in training camp… makeover day! Marshall and Kevin from Tangerine Salon, the official salon of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, come to The Star to consult with the rookies and Kelli Finglass before their makeovers.
Every rookie has a one-on-one appointment to figure out their look and enhance what they already are working with. On top of the hair, the girls also learn more beauty tips and tricks to nail the DCC look.
Without the right DCC look, the rookie candidate might not make the team, so a good makeover is crucial.
The second rehearsal of training camp is held, and the group leaders are announced! Being a group leader is a big deal because it means that you get an endorsement by Kelli and Judy. Group leaders help teach the choreography, and on game days they lead the group. It is one of the most respected, sought afterand highest honors for a DCC.
The DCC Alumni hold a class for the rookies in training camp. They not only teach and critique dance, but they are also there to inspire the rookies along their journey. They know everything there is to know about the DCC world and spread their wisdom to the girls hoping to follow in their footsteps. They also provide a fresh set of eyes and a new perspective on the girls to share with Kelli and Judy.
During the final rehearsal of the week, Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett makes a surprise visit. He speaks with all of the girls about respect and how that is one of the most important qualities a person can have. He also talks about how special it is to be a part of an elite group like the Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders filled with history and tradition. A great platform to live out their dreams!
