Auditions are over and it's finally time to start training camp! But before the summer is spent at The Star, the returning veterans are heading to Bimini, The Bahamas to shoot the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders swimsuit calendar collections.
Prior to leaving for Bimini, the veterans all come to The Star for swimsuit fittings. Each girl receives a stack of a swimsuits to try on, all from a variety of designers, styles and colors. They try them on one by one, take a test shot in front of a beach scene with one of the photographers to see how it looks in pictures, then Kelli or Judy give it a yes or no. It's a long day, but worth it to find the perfect suit that could potentially make the calendar.
After swimsuit fittings, a plane ride to Miami and a ferry to Bimini, the ladies are ready to get the DCC calendar adventure going!
Each day in Bimini there are two photographers with their own team of hair and makeup stylists who take three DCC around the island to get their shots. There are constant swimsuit and location changes so every girl has as many shots as possible, giving her the best opportunity to make the calendar.
This year's calendar trip comes with many challenges, however – the biggest one being the weather. It rains all but one day down in Bimini and there's rarely good sunlight, so it's up to the photographers to work with the elements and still make photo magic happen.
After a week in paradise, the vets come right back to The Star and join the training camp candidates for First Meeting and the official start to training camp.
There's no better way to kick off training camp than to learn the DCC's signature pregame routine "Thunderstruck." The training camp candidates learn the choreography then have to turn it around and perform it by the end of the night. This help separates the ones who can handle training camp and the ones who can't in Kelli and Judy's eyes.
At the conclusion of the first night of training camp, girls will be called into the office. Be sure to tune in to find out who gets called in, and if it will be their last night in training camp or not!
