Dallas Cowboys football is back.
The long wait for the NFL to return to AT&T Stadium was over as the Miami Dolphins were in town to take on the Cowboys in the second of four pre-season games.
With the excitement in the air on a picture perfect 80 degree August day, the Dallas Cowboys Rhythm & Blue Dancers presented by Miller Lite, the NFL's first and only co-ed hip hop professional dance team in the NFL, were ready for five performances on the Miller Lite and AT&T Plazas and their traditional pre-game parade.
Then the skies opened up and a torrential downpour encompassed most of DFW, including the home of the Dallas Cowboys.
Since the fans continued to pour in the $1.2 billion stadium in anticipation of seeing a show, the DCRB borrowed from the football team's playbook and called an audible by opting to follow the proverbial phrase of turning "lemons into lemonade."
Dallas Cowboys Rhythm & Blue Director Jenny Durbin Smith worked behind the scenes with the stadium's entertainment staff and literally "on the fly," they moved the DCRB first performances of the 2016-17 season inside the stadium.
The DCRB made their way upstairs to the Miller Lite Landing and with the huge crowd of patrons gathered around, the Dancers and the Drumline took turns putting on a show. The longer they went, the bigger the crowd and subsequent cheers from Cowboys fans clad in jerseys ranging from Elliott (21) to Emmitt (22).
As kickoff approached, the DCRB went downstairs to pose for photos with fans and do their pre-game parade.
The fans were on the feet when the game got underway and they had a lot to cheer about as the Cowboys dominated Miami en route to a 41-14 win.
Dallas has two pre-season games remaining, including a home affair where the Cowboys host their in-state rival Houston Texans on Sept. 1.
