IRVING, Texas - The Cowboys had two players unexpectedly miss Friday's practice in preparation for Sunday's game in Carolina.
Wide receiver Dez Bryant is now questionable to play because of a groin injury that kept him from participating on Friday.
Rookie safety Matt Johnson has been ruled out for Sunday, cancelling what would've been his NFL debut. Johnson left Friday's practice after re-injuring his left hamstring. It's the third hamstring injury he's suffered since late July. Depending on the nature of this latest setback, Johnson might be headed for injured reserve.
Johnson was expected to play on special teams and possibly in some defensive sub-packages. That will certainly cause for some reshuffling on special teams.
And if Bryant can't go Sunday, look for Cole Beasley to likely be activated, although Kevin Ogletree would start. Dwayne Harris would play more on offense and would likely handle all of the punt return duties.
