MOBILE, Ala. – The Senior Bowl itself isn't until Saturday, but the action is beginning to wind down a bit.
Most of the scouting world leaves Mobile after Thursday's practices, and that includes the cast of The Draft Show – who went through their final show of the week before heading back to Texas. Here are some of the highlights from the morning show:
· Following Wednesday's practice, which was closed to media, Dane Brugler consulted some coaches' tape and evaluated several standouts from the afternoon. One of the brightest standouts was Georgia State wide receiver Penny Hart, who has continued to impress scouts despite his 5-8 frame. Hart is one of several receivers to impress in Mobile, along with Andy Isabella and Deebo Samuel.
· One of the central talking points of the show came from a question about Senior Bowl interviews, and what it means when the Cowboys meet with a player here in Mobile. The guys debated whether it was due diligence or genuine interest to talk to a player this early in the draft process, and they discussed the value of in-person scouting interviews.
· Another fun talking point was the discussion about rising players, and who will be the most remembered player from this Senior Bowl. Last year's game obviously featured Baker Mayfield, while talents like Dak Prescott and Aaron Donald have played in other games. Bryan Broaddus suggested that Mississippi State pass rusher Montez Sweat could be a Pro Bowler by this time next year, while Dane Brugler made the case for Duke quarterback Daniel Jones.
