OXNARD, Calif. -- Indications are guard Zack Martin's back injury is not serious after undergoing an MRI exam Friday.
The athletic training staff suggested Martin get an MRI after his sore back began "bothering him a little bit," head coach Jason Garrett said Friday.
On Saturday, Garrett provided more of an update.
"I think the plan right now is to rest him and rehab for a few days, maybe even up to a week or so and just how he responds to that." Garrett said. "Obviously, he's as tough as they come and he'll do everything possible. I think it's probably in his best interest right now to dial him back off the practice field and see how he responds to that."
The Cowboys will likely keep the All-Pro guard on a similar schedule to linebacker Sean Lee, who has been out the last few days with a minor knee sprain.
