FRISCO, Texas – Signed and sealed, Zack Martin is now one of the richest players in Cowboys history, and definitely the richest guard in league history.
Martin officially signed his six-year, $84 million extension on Thursday in Jerry Jones' office at The Star. The deal also gives Martin $40 million in guaranteed money.
"I'm just relieved to get this out of the way," Martin said. "It's been pretty stressful as we've worked to get this done. I'm glad to get focused only on football again."
Martin, a four-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro in his first four NFL seasons, said it's an honor and also a "humbling experience" to receive a contract to that magnitude.
