The Cowboys charged back from a 24-14 deficit in the fourth quarter. Romo hit Austin for a leaping 25-yard TD and then directed a 10-play, 44-yard drive in the final four minutes that ended with Bailey's overtime-forcing, 48-yard field goal.
Then, after the Cowboys' defense forced a punt on the 49ers' first overtime drive – part of an impressive overall effort that included six sacks on quarterback Alex Smith – Romo found backup receiver Jesse Holley in stride for a 77-yard gain that set up Bailey's winner, atoning for his 21-yard miss in the first quarter.
