ARLINGTON, Texas – There weren't any surprises on the Cowboys' inactives list for the opener against the 49ers.
The list was a compilation of mostly injured players and newcomers and included defensive linemen Anthony Spencer, Terrell McClain and Jack Crawford, tackles Donald Hawkins and Darrion Weems, linebacker Korey Toomer and quarterback Dustin Vaughan.
First-round pick Zack Martin and wide receiver Terrance Williams were questionable, but they're both active. Martin said he was dealing with plantar fasciitis in his foot, while Williams is dealing with a bruised back.
Spencer (knee) and Weems (shoulder) were already ruled out earlier this week. Hawkins, Toomer and Crawford came to the Cowboys after training camp and are still settling in. [embedded_ad]
This will mark the Dallas debuts for defensive tackle Henry Melton and linebacker Rolando McClain. The other McClain, Terrell, has been dealing with an ankle injury and won't be suiting up for the opener.
Tony Romo (back) and George Selvie (shoulder) were probable entering the weekend and will play, as expected. This will mark the first regular season game for Romo since his offseason back surgery.
With Vaughan out, the Cowboys only have two quarterbacks active Sunday. They elected to keep all five wide receivers on the 53-man roster active.
