Mailbag: Could Martin Move To Tackle?; Kyle Wilber's Production

JEFF LEE

With Zack Martin doing so well and Doug Free a potential free agent next year, could Martin move into the right tackle position in 2015? I see an upgrade at a cheaper cap hit if he can make the move.

Bryan: If you listen to Jerry Jones talk about how he would like to protect Tony Romo, it has always been about keeping the front of the pocket solid. He finally has the three players inside that accomplishes that desire. Zack Martin is not going anywhere.

David:I'm pretty confident Martin could make the move if the coaches wanted him to, but I don't think they do. I honestly don't think Free would be that expensive to bring back, and if I were making the decisions he'd be one of my free agent priorities – right behind Dez Bryant and Rolando McClain. It can only be good for this group to keep it together as long as possible.

Kyle Wilber was a pleasant surprise when he was switched to strong side linebacker last season. This season, his name has hardly been mentioned. Too many good linebackers on the current roster?

Bryan: That is the exact reason in my opinion. This front office has really done a nice job of bringing in talent, but more importantly these coaches have done an even better job of getting them ready each week. I believe there will be games down the stretch where you will hear Wilber's name mentioned more for the roles they are asking him to play.

David: It seems like Wilber has played pretty well when given the chance, but those just haven't come very often. If you think back to the circumstances that moved him to linebacker in the first place, there was no one to play on the strong side when Justin Durant went down. Durant excellent play on the weak side earlier this season moved Bruce Carter to SAM, which has made it hard for Wilber to get onto the field.
