Mailbag: Day 3 Sleepers In This Year's Draft? Double-Dipping At Receiver?

Who's the guy this year we are all going to be cheering for on the third day this year? Last year we pulled off Xavier Woods and the year before Anthony Brown. Is there a player this year who could go in the back end of the draft that is a home run pick for Dallas?

Bryan:If they don't take one on Day 2, my guess is that we're going to be cheering for one of these running backs -- Mark Walton, John Kelly or Ito Smith. Those guys might be a little undervalued but have a chance to hit big if given a chance.

David:There are a few linebackers I'd be really excited to draft on Day 3 this year, and none stands out more than Wisconsin's Jack Cichy. Injuries completely robbed him down the stretch of his college career, but he's got an impressive ability to find the football. I wouldn't want to use a big-time draft pick on him, but if he's still hanging around on Saturday, he could develop into a really impressive player.

Now that Dez is gone, and given that the free agent wide receivers added are on short-term deals, do you see the Cowboys double-dipping this year for two receivers or a receiver and tight end in the first few rounds?

Bryan:  I could see them drafting a wide receiver but not double dipping as you have said. I would be careful about sleeping on Noah Brown or Lance Lenoir. Both have been a big part of Captain's Workouts and early throwing with Prescott. I have a strong feeling that both realize the situation ahead for them.

David: I like the the logic there. There's not a lot in the way of long-term stability at wide receiver right now. There's still not a ton of room in this receiver group, though. If the front office were to draft two receivers, I think one of them would be a late-round pick. Otherwise, you're putting yourselves in a tight situation.
