Phillips might have shown his age Saturday, attempting one of those tricky two-part high-fives the kids do these days. Phillips nailed the high-five part with Roy Williams, but the coach missed badly on the reverse down-low end of the gesture. Better stick to fist pounds, coach.
Who's Hot:
The Cowboys' defense came up big in 11-on-11 drills Saturday morning, intercepting several passes. Roy Williams, Ken Hamlin and even reserve linebacker John Saldi came away with a pick. The unit was applying pressure too, as Akin Ayodele came untouched right up the middle for a would-be sack on Tony Romo, and Brad Johnson had a pass deflected at the line.
Who's Not:
Quarterback Richard Bartel has had a rough go of it the last few days, and seems to be losing the third quarterback competition to Oregon State rookie Matt Moore. Bartel had an ugly interception in the two-minute drill Thursday, simply throwing the ball up for grabs in the end zone, and badly underthrew wide receiver Jerard Rabb today on a pass Ken Hamlin intercepted.
