FRISCO, Texas – Only 10 days remain until the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, where the Cowboys are slated to select 12th overall after finishing with a 7-10 record in 2024.
Dallas will have a grand total of 10 picks in this draft after various trades throughout the offseason including most recently picking up a seventh-round pick after acquiring quarterback Joe Milton III from the New England Patriots.
With plenty of needs across the roster, who do draft analysts see the Cowboys picking when they're on the clock at 12? Let's take a look across the media landscape:
Jordan Plocher – PFF – Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona - "At 6-foot-4 and 219 pounds, McMillan has a vastly different body type and skill set from CeeDee Lamb and would provide Dak Prescott with a big-bodied threat on the outside while Lamb does his damage in the slot. McMillan is also a run-after-the-catch threat, having tallied 29 forced missed tackles in 2024."
Maurice Jones-Drew – NFL.com – Matthew Golden, WR, Texas – "The Texas receiver has reliable hands and can be a YAC monster at the next level thanks to his tremendous speed. Golden, who primarily played in the slot in college, should pair well with CeeDee Lamb as a downfield playmaker for Dak Prescott."
Ryan Wilson – CBS – Tyler Booker, OG, Alabama – "It's hard to think Booker has flown under the radar given his physical presence and his dominating style of play, but now that we're officially in draft season, expect the Booker Train to pick up steam. He's played mostly left guard at Alabama, and his athleticism and anchor in pass protection, coupled with his earth-moving ability in the run game, at times defies the laws of physics. He's a plug-and-play starter on Day 1."
Mason Cameron – PFF – Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State - Dallas is in need of playmakers all over the offense, and here they have a choice between Matthew Golden and Tyler Warren. While they would be well served to nab either, Warren is a unique playmaker who would unlock this offense. With Jake Ferguson on the roster — and in a contract year — Dallas can become a more versatile offense after running one of the lowest rates of 12 personnel (10.8%) in 2024, due in part to a lack of talent at the position."
Gennaro Filice – NFL.com – Jalon Walker, EDGE, Georgia (projected trade up to No. 8 with Carolina Panthers) – "Across the mockosphere, Walker often comes off the board at No. 8 overall -- typically, though, the Carolinas native is projected to land in Charlotte. But in this simulation, the Panthers trade the pick to the Cowboys, who scoop up Walker for themselves. Wait, doesn't Dallas already have a twitchy LB/edge hybrid? Yeah, but why settle for one Micah Parsons when you can have two?! Alright, that comp's aggressive, but the pairing would be undeniably fun. And Parsons is a well-documented fan of Walker's game."
Chris Trapasso – CBS – Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia – "The Cowboys jump at the opportunity to add Williams to the defensive line after losing DeMarcus Lawrence in free agency."
Connor Rogers – NBC – Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State – "I like the idea of taking an offensive lineman in this spot for Dallas, but my three options that all made sense are off the board. With Warren, the Cowboys get tougher in the trenches but also add their potential No. 2 pass catcher. Jake Ferguson is entering a contract year, but 12 personnel with him and Warren would be dangerous in 2025."
Josh Liskiewitz – PFF – Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri – "Burden is an ideal "five-tool," multi-sport athlete for the receiver position in the NFL. The first-round talent is as well-rounded as they come, displaying the ability to succeed at any receiver spot in any offense."
Rhett Lewis – NFL.com – Matthew Golden, WR, Texas – "The Cowboys need a Robin to CeeDee Lamb's Batman, and while Golden takes a back seat to no one in this receiver class, it's quite enticing to imagine the Texas product riding shotgun in Dallas. The pick also further supports the franchise's massive investment in Dak Prescott."
