IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys received some good news on Tuesday with the MRI results of linebacker Sean Lee, who left Monday's game with a neck injury.
According to Cowboys VP and director of player personnel Stephen Jones, the news was "all good" on Lee after the morning MRI. Jones did say the Cowboys would continue monitor Lee this week and it's possible the middle linebacker could miss Wednesday's practice.
But his chances of playing this week against the Packers are possible despite the setback Monday.
After the game, Lee said he was hopeful the injury was not serious and he could play even on a short week with Green Bay coming to town.
It was Lee's first game back from missing two games with a hamstring injury. Earlier in the game against the Bears, Lee did limp around, seemingly favoring the hamstring.
While he said he was less than 100 percent, Lee said the neck issue was his biggest concern.
Lee still leads the Cowboys with 121 tackles, just ahead of safety Barry Church (116). Lee is also the team's leader in interceptions with fur and is tied with Jason Hatcher for tackles for loss with five each.
The linebacker position is one of the more banged up spots on this team. Bruce Carter left the game with a hamstring injury although it's likely Justin Durant (hamstring) could be closer to returning. The same might be the case for DeVonte Holloman, who has missed the last seven games with a neck injury.
At other positions, wide receiver/kick returner Dwayne Harris and cornerback Morris Claiborne both have hamstring injuries that could keep them from playing Sunday.
