Mukuamu TBD vs. Rams, Schoonmaker still absent

OXNARD, Calif. — Training camp continues to roll along for the Dallas Cowboys and that means, unfortunately, the injury bug begins to make its rounds, as it does at each of the 32 camps around the NFL. It's already victimized defensive end Sam Williams, sidelining him for the season, and others are battling more minor issues.

Israel Mukuamu, the versatile veteran safety, will not be at practice at any point this week, per head coach Mike McCarthy on Monday — leaving practice late last week with injury — which means you can count him out of the joint practice against the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday.

He'll likely also miss the team's first preseason game against those very same Rams on Sunday, but that's to-be-determined.

Luke Schoommaker was expected back at practice on Monday, but McCarthy says the groin injury will keep the former second-round pick doing prehab work with training Britt Brown — having dealt with a hamstring injury in the spring — along with rookie first-round pick Tyler Guyton, who will miss his third practice with illness as he works his way back to the field.
