IRVING, Texas – For the fourth-straight week and the fifth time this season, DeMarco Murray is a nominee to be FedEx Ground Player of the Week.
Fans can vote for Murray to win the award a fifth time this season at NFL.com/FedEx. His competition this week is Jacksonville's Denard Robinson and Pittsburgh's Le'Veon Bell.
It's not much of a surprise that Murray continues to garner recognition for his output on the field this season. His 28-carry, 128-yard and one-touchdown performance against New York on Sunday helped him set NFL history, as he became the first running back to ever rush for 100-plus yards in seven-straight games to open a season.
Even with Bell and Houston's Arian Foster running well behind him, Murray is the runaway leader in most, if not all, league rushing categories. His 913 rushing yards on the season leads second-place Foster by 298 yards, and his total of seven rushing touchdowns is two more than anyone else.
This week's nominees for the Air Award are Denver's Peyton Manning, New Orleans' Drew Brees and Indianapolis' Andrew Luck.
If Murray once again wins the award, FedEx will make a $2,000 donation to the Dallas chapter of the American Red Cross.
