IRVING, Texas – While DeMarco Murray didn't claim NFC Player of the Week honors, he did win a fan vote for the FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week award.

Murray was nominated after his 167-yard rushing performance against the Titans in Nashville, where he received a career-high 29 carries.

The voting began Tuesday and finished up Thursday morning, with Murray edging out Houston's Arian Foster (28 carries, 138 yards, TD) and New England's Steven Ridley (25 carries, 101 yards, TD).

In the other half of the award, San Diego's Philip Rivers won the "Air" Player of the Week with his performance against the defending-champion Seahawks. Other passing nominees where Nick Foles and Aaron Rodgers.

With Murray's award, the Dallas chapter of the American Red Cross will be awarded a $2,000 donation in Murray's name.

This is Murray's third time to win this award with both honors occurring after games with the Rams. Last season, Murray's 175 rushing yards against the Rams in Week 3 helped him the fan vote. Of course, his 2011 record-breaking day as a rookie when he rushed for 253 yards against the Rams earned him various Player of the Week honors across the board.   [embedded_ad]

The only other Cowboys running back to win this award is Julius Jones, who won it in 2004 and 2005. Tony Romo has won the passing award four times and Drew Bledsoe did twice in 2005.

Murray was nominated for the NFC's Offensive Player of the Week award, which went to Philadelphia's Darren Sproles.

Other players nominated for the weekly awards this week included Dez Bryant for offense and kicker Dan Bailey for special teams.
