These Cowboys, embarrassed by a 6-10 record a year ago, have shown mental and physical toughness in two wins over the San Francisco 49ers and now the Redskins (2-1) before 91,017 in their home opener at Cowboys Stadium.
Mentally, they overcame a four-point fourth-quarter deficit to win, having scored all 18 points on a rookie-record six field goals by kicker Dan Bailey that offset an off night for the offense.
