IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys signed restricted free agent safety Danny McCray on Friday afternoon.

McCray has spent three years with the Cowboys after signing as an undrafted free agent following the 2010 NFL Draft. The Houston native earned a reputation as a special teams ace in his first two seasons, after he led the team in special teams tackles in both 2010 and 2011 with 28 and 19, respectively. Injuries forced McCray into a starting role for most of 2012 – his third season with the team. He started 10 of the 15 games he appeared in last year and set a career high with 87 tackles, good enough for second on the team. Despite spending time as a starter, McCray still managed to finish second on the squad in special teams tackles, notching 18 to go along with one tackle for loss and five pass breakups at safety.

McCray's return to the roster gives Dallas another safety heading into the summer, after signing 10-year veteran free agent Will Allen. The Cowboys also return Barry Church and 2012 fourth-round draft pick Matt Johnson from injury.

Kemp Cut

The Cowboys parted ways with receiver Donavon Kemp this week.  The injured receiver never played in an NFL game after signing with the team last year.

He hurt his knee in a training camp practice last season in San Diego. The injury turned out to be a torn ACL, and he was placed on injured reserve.

Draft Conference

The Cowboys will hold their pre-draft press conference on Monday at 1 p.m. at Valley Ranch. The conference will preview the upcoming draft, which begins Thursday at 7 p.m.

TV Schedule

A revised television broadcast schedule for the Cowboys' preseason games has been released. The Hall of Fame game on Aug. 4 against Miami will be televised on NBC, while the last four games will be televised by Blue Star Media on KTVT/CBS 11 in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  For those outside of the area, the NFL Network will have the Oakland and Arizona games with the home team's broadcast.
