More Work To DoThe preseason finale is typically an audition for fringe players trying to make the roster, while established starters stay on the bench. Jones said in the postgame locker room, however, that at least some of the Cowboys' starters could get some work Thursday against Denver.
"I think you might see more from some of the offensive starters," he said. "I don't know that that will include Romo."
After watching the starting offensive line surrender three sacks in the first half against Miami, Jones said those five could be prime candidates for more playing time – though he stressed that's not his decision to make.

Big Hit, Big Fine?Ahmad Dixon drew a flag and plenty of criticism for a big hit on Dolphins receiver Matt Hazel in the waning moments of the game. Dixon laid a big blow on Hazel as the ball sailed out of bounds on a 3rd-and-9 from the Dallas 22-yard line.
Had Dixon pulled up, it likely would have forced a 39-yard field goal, but it instead allowed the drive to continue. It seemed like a frustrating moment for the rookie, as he adjusts to NFL player safety rules.
"You're taught how to play a certain way for a certain amount of years, and then you've got to all of a sudden adjust how you play competing," he said. "It is what it is, I ain't going to speak much on it – it is what it is. I'm going to let it be."
Dixon was asked if he thought he'd be fined by the league for the hit, which is typical of similar personal fouls.
"I'm not going to say I don't care, but I'm playing ball," he said. "If I've got to take a fine every week for me to play ball, I'll do that."

Selvie Shoulder
If George Selvie was going to injure a shoulder, it's better he hurt the one he did.
Selvie didn't seem overly concerned after leaving Saturday's game with a right shoulder injury, but it's a positive it was the right one and not the left, which was surgically repaired this offseason.
After the game, the Selvie had an ice pack strapped around his sore right shoulder. He said he sustained the injury by falling on it.
The defensive end said the trainers told him to sit out on the sideline the rest of the game, but he's not worried it'll keep him out long-term.
"It's good, man," Selvie said. "Stuff happens. Last year I played with a shoulder injury the whole season. Right now I'm just a little bruised, but I'm good."

Cramping Up
Ryan Williams couldn't even make it to the sideline after catching a pass and breaking the ankles of a defender on a 12-yard gain in the fourth quarter.
The running back's groin cramped up and he was held out the rest of the way, but he doesn't think he pulled it and he was trying to get back on the field after leaving the game.
"It was a cramp," he said. "Nothing bad, no pull, no nothing. I was trying to go back out there, but on the safe side, they kept me on the side just in case I did pull it. We're going to get a precautionary test tomorrow, but I don't think I did. I was ready to go back out there."
At first, Williams thought the injury might have been worse. But when he got to the sideline and realized he could jog, he felt calmer.
He had another strong day in his attempt to make the 53-man roster, leading the Cowboys with 47 yards rushing to go with two catches for 22 yards. Williams competing for the third running back spot with Joseph Randle, who left the game with a rib injury.
Williams said he was satisfied with his performance at Sun Life Stadium. The heat and the success both reminded him of the last time he played at that stadium in Miami in college in 2010.
"I forgot what it was like," he said. "I had to take my visor off. It was tough. Cramped up a little bit. You know, we had a lot of cramps today. I was hoping I wasn't one of them, but I was."
