PALM BEACH, Fla. --Part of Jason Garrett's first day at the NFL spring meetings included reviewing what his team can and can't do in its first full offseason under the new collective bargaining agreement.
Players begin the voluntary strength and conditioning program April 16, and coaches can't be involved for the first two weeks.
The team can hold a rookie minicamp (likely the weekend after the late-April draft) as well as one team minicamp that's usually scheduled for June.
In between will be a maximum of 10 OTA workouts likely starting around Memorial Day.
It's a shorter offseason than before, and it features very specific rules for player activity. Just last year, though, the Cowboys had *no *offseason.
