(Editor's Note: While the start of the 2025 NFL Draft isn't until late April, it's never too early to profile some of the key participants. The staff of DallasCowboys.com intends to preview the landscape of the draft's top prospects, with an emphasis on possible Cowboys draft picks – from the first round to the last. Today's featured player is Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan.)
- Name: Tetairoa McMillan
- Position: Wide Receiver
- College: Arizona
- Height/Weight: 6-4 / 219
- Did You Know? After back-to-back 1,300 yard receiving seasons in his sophomore and junior years at Arizona, McMillan wrapped up his career as a Wildcat breaking the school's record of career receiving yards with 3,423 in three years. The man who previously held the record was Bobby Wade, who was hired to be Arizona's wide receivers coach in McMillan's final season.
Where He's Projected:
McMillan is widely considered to be one of if not the best wide receivers available in the 2025 class, with many mock drafts seeing him selected in the top 10-15 picks.
How He Helps the Cowboys:
Dallas has been in search of a wide receiver to pair alongside CeeDee Lamb, and McMillan's game compliments Lamb's in a way that can allow both of them flourish for the Cowboys' offense. McMillan's big frame and 31 ½" arms give him a huge catch radius, and paired with his ability to win 50/50 balls can establish himself as a viable down field threat with a big size mismatch for opposing defenses.
McMillan glides around the field with long strides and has enough straight-line speed to be able to separate enough to use his freakish athletic traits to win contested catches. Is excellent at making himself available in the scramble drill and has a natural feel for keeping himself in-bounds along the sidelines. His ability to play both on the outside or in the slot gives the Cowboys the flexibility to move Lamb between those two spots as well, keeping defenses on their toes.
Final Thoughts:
The largest question hanging over McMillan throughout this process has been his top-end speed, but his build and athletic ability are enough to nullify most concerns in that department. If McMillan is selected by the Cowboys, he'd immediately become the tallest wide receiver on the roster by two inches, giving Dallas the big body deep threat they've been looking for.
