FRISCO, Texas – The Cowboys released former fourth-round draft pick Charles Tapper from the practice squad but added more depth for the secondary and the offensive line.
The team announced Tuesday it signed cornerback Treston Decoud and guard Cody Wichmann to the 10-man practice squad.
Decoud, a fifth-round pick by the Texans last year, appeared in 10 games for Houston as a rookie and recorded seven tackles and a pass breakup.
Wichmann, 26, made 18 starts for the Rams in his first two NFL seasons. The 2015 sixth-round pick spent last season on the Titans' practice squad.
Injuries plagued Tapper in his first two NFL seasons and he wasn't able to win a roster spot this year among a deep group of defensive ends.
