The Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers, two of the most storied franchises in NFL history, have faced off three times in the league's ultimate game with Pittsburgh coming out on top in Super Bowls X and XIII and the Cowboys taking the title in Super Bowl XXX.
They have also met 30 times previously in the regular season with Dallas holding the slight advantage at 16-14. That mark includes the very first win for the franchise, a 27-24 victory over the Steelers back in 1961. In addition, the Cowboys have gone 7-8 in Pittsburgh.
The connections, though, run deeper as there have been several Cowboys in team annals who actually hailed from or near Pittsburgh but went on to star in Dallas, including a handful of Hall of Famers. With that in mind, here are the top Cowboys who can lay claim to being born in the that region of the country.
Here are the top-10 Cowboys who were born in the Pittsburgh area.

With the help of former Steelers Hall of Famer Mel Blount, Goodwin caught the attention of NFL teams following his collegiate career and eventually came to Dallas in 2018. He's been a special teams ace for the Cowboys ever since.](https://static.clubs.nfl.com/image/upload/t_new_photo_album/t_lazy/f_auto/cowboys/xhfnaecaq09uigyfxhku.jpg)
