The Cowboys' Sunday matchup with Detroit is also a reunion of sorts as Lions head coach Dan Campbell spent time during his playing career wearing the Star. In fact, throughout the franchise's history, several former Dallas players have gone on to enter the coaching ranks.

That includes a handful who became NFL coordinators, like Kellen Moore, Dennis Thurman and Ken Norton Jr., as well several who ran programs in the college ranks, such as Eddie George and Greg Ellis. And, of course, the landscape is dotted with those who went on to coach at the high school level, the most notable probably being Jason Witten, who guided his Liberty Christian football team to a Texas TAPPS Division II state title last season.
