IRVING, Texas --Wide receiver Laurent Robinson was on the field for the start of Friday's practice, an encouraging sign after missing Wednesday and Thursday with a shoulder injury.
Robinson has started the last four games in place of Miles Austin (hamstring), who's expected to return Sunday against the Giants. A healthy Robinson would give quarterback Tony Romo his full complement of receivers and tight ends for really the first time all season.
Robinson is third on the team with 42 catches for 626 yards and seven touchdowns. It appeared he might participate Thursday, but officially did not.
Missing during the open portion were safety Danny McCray (ankle), the Cowboys' leading special teams tackler; tight end Martellus Bennett (ribs); nose tackle Josh Brent (knee); quarterback Jon Kitna (back); running back Phillip Tanner (hamstring) and safety Abram Elam (personal).
