IRVING, Texas – When the Cowboys kick off against the Packers, Ken Bishop will be a member of their active roster for the first time since the Oct. 12 trip to Seattle.
After spending a week evaluating Terrell McClain's ankle injury, the Cowboys have opted to activate Bishop from their practice squad as a precautionary measure. Prior to the roster move, Dallas had just three healthy defensive tackles in Tyrone Crawford, Nick Hayden and Josh Brent.

To make room for Bishop, the Cowboys have cut Jakar Hamilton from the 53-man roster.
It remains to be seen if Bishop will be one of the 46 players the Cowboys dress for Sunday's game, but he has shot to play his first snaps since Week 4 against the New Orleans Saints, when he had one quarterback pressure.
Bishop was taken five spots before the end of the 2014 NFL Draft, No. 251 overall. He was the fourth of five seventh-round picks the Cowboys used this past spring, and he is the only one who has remained on the roster for the entire spring. Fellow seventh-round pick Ben Gardner has been on injured reserve since the summer, and Will Smith has bounced between free agency and the practice squad at times during the season.
Bishop participated in three of the first four games this season while the Cowboys dealt with injuries to their defensive line – specifically Anthony Spencer and DeMarcus Lawrence, who were hampered by injury. He made one tackle in the season opener against San Francisco, and another in the Week 3 win against St. Louis for a season total of two stops.
