Key stat: Keep hearing all these concerns about Tony Romo's performance in 2008, but what about this: Barber averaged 3.7 yards per carry, and he only had - because of injury - 34 more carries in 2008 than he had in a backup, Pro Bowl 2007 season. Here is what is scary about that stat: Only three of the single-season leading rushers in the 49-year history of the Cowboys averaged fewer yards per carry: L.G. Dupre, 3.5 in 1960; Doug Dennison, 3.5 in 1976; and Troy Hambrick, 3.5 in 2003. Now, Emmitt Smith averaged a career-low 3.7 in that offensively-challenged 2006 season, so who knows, maybe this was just one of those years.
