IRVING, Texas --In a week where it seems nobody's 100 percent healthy on the Cowboys' roster, there was one positive sighting Thursday: cornerback Orlando Scandrick without a protective walking boot.
After an excellent preseason, Scandrick suffered a high ankle sprain in the Sept. 11 opener against the Jets and hasn't practiced since. He didn't offer a specific timetable, but he expects to begin jogging soon and didn't rule out returning before the Week 5 bye.
The Cowboys won't rush Scandrick back, however, so his return date will depend on how quickly he progresses.
Without him, the Cowboys signed veteran Frank Walker for depth. Mike Jenkins has been able to play through multiple injuries, and Terence Newman's return Thursday from a seven-week groin injury certainly helps.
